October 29 E. Patrick Johnson, author of Sweet Tea: Gay Black Men in the South and chair, director of graduate studies, professor in the Department of Performance studies, and professor of African American studies at Northwestern University will be performing a selection from his one-man show “Pouring Tea: Black Gay Men of the South Tell Their Tales,” based on some of the narratives from his book. “Pouring Tea” chronicles everything from navigating the church as gay/transgender, sexual experimentation, and conforming to societal notions of masculinity. The show will be in Love Auditorium of the Levine Research Science Center from 7:30-9pm.
